If you would like to learn how to use Facebook and Instagram to grow your business, at TAFE Queensland we have the course for you.

This course is for people who have realised the need to use Facebook and Instagram to both create brand awareness and generate sales or leads in their business.

We’ll take you through the step by step strategies that you can use Facebook & Instagram through both organic and paid strategies in your business. The instructor will show specific strategies that you can then implement in your business. There will be available time to ask specific questions on your business in this course. You will be also provided with a comprehensive manual to follow along and take home for future reference.

The following topics will be covered throughout the duration of your course: (6 hours)

  • Why you need to include social media in your business
  • How to use Facebook and Instagram to create organic growth
  • How to use your business page to its full capability
  • How to use Canva to create attractive images for your social media
  • How to use Facebook groups to generate more awareness and sales in your business
  • The strategies behind taking your customer through a journey and how to apply this to your business
  • How to use Facebook and Instagram to create growth through paid advertising.

This course is delivered via Zoom in real time with a facilitator.  Lessons are not recorded.  Lessons are as per the timetable.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

You will need to be a Queensland resident; aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school; is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, and does not work for TAFE or any other Federal, State or Local government agency.

Resources required

In order to successfully complete your online studies via Zoom, you will require:

  • a personal computer or laptop to participate actively in the course. The computer must have speakers, a microphone and internet access (webcam optional);
  • a quiet and ergonomically correct work area to participate active in the course with little or no distractions; and
  • a pen and paper for taking notes.

You will receive by email a Zoom meeting link in the days leading up to your first lesson (this will not be provided at enrolment).

Please note that you do not need a Zoom app or licence to attend the lessons, you can join using the URL (web link) the teacher provides you, if you prefer.

Prior to commencement of your first lesson, you will need:

  • to have downloaded the free trial of Canva;
  • a Facebook business page; and
  • an Instagram business page.

Further study option
To further enhance your knowledge and experience from this course, and for more in depth small business content, it is recommended you enrol into Create and Manage Facebook Advertising for Small Business once you've completed this course.

For privacy reasons - Online lessons are not to be recorded or photographed by attendees and sessions are not to be shared on any other platform. 
Online lessons are also not recorded by facilitators.
